6 Things Aftermarket Porsche Wheels Must Get Right

The 911 had a record 2025 in Porsche’s Middle East and Africa region, taking 23 per cent of sales, according to Porsche Middle East. K7 Forged builds Porsche alloy wheels in Dubai for the 911, Cayman, Cayenne, Panamera and Taycan. When you order from us, we make a CAD preview of offset, concavity and brake clearance, and production begins only after the owner signs off.

Key Highlights

•  The 911, 718 and Cayenne use a 5×130 pattern with ball-seat bolts, while the 95B Macan uses 5×112.

•  GT3 models and the latest 911 Turbo S use one centre-lock nut tightened to 600 Nm.

•  A 991 Carrera S runs an ET70 offset on its 11-inch rear wheels.

•  Front brake discs reach 420mm on the 992 Turbo S and 440mm on the Cayenne Turbo GT.

•  Porsche has approved N-rated tyres since 1988, and the approval still applies when you change rims.

Porsche wheels need a 5×130 pattern and ball-seat bolts

The Apex Wheels fitment guide lists 5×130 with a 71.6mm centre bore for every bolt-on 911, Boxster, Cayman and Cayenne. The 95B Macan uses 5×112 with a 66.6mm bore. All of them take M14x1.5 bolts with an R14 ball seat, while many Japanese cars use a 60-degree conical seat. A conical bolt in a ball-seat wheel weakens clamping force and centring, Three Piece explains. Our 2026 wheel buying guide covers the other fitment checks.

•  Ask for a hub-centric 71.6mm bore on 5×130 cars.

GT3 and Turbo models may need a centre-lock hub

Apex lists centre-lock hubs with a 101mm bore on the 992.1 GT3, GT3 RS and 992.2 Turbo S. GTS and earlier Turbo models came with either hub. The Houston Region PCA describes the routine as 600 Nm, a 90-degree back-off, then 600 Nm again. It adds that most chain tyre shops refuse to service these wheels. A five-bolt rim cannot mount on a centre-lock hub, so share your full trim name with us before you order.

High rear offsets keep the 911 balanced

A 991 Carrera S on factory 20-inch wheels runs 8.5J ET51 up front and 11J ET70 at the rear, per this Porsche Tequipment listing. The 992 Turbo S press kit pairs 9.5-inch fronts with rear wheels up to 12 inches wide. High offsets tuck wide rims under the arches. A generic offset can rub the liner or upset load capacity and handling. We set the offset in the forging, so you skip risky spacers and still get flush fitment.

Our TEC-314 monoblock appears on a Cayman GT4 on our TEC Series page. The split-spoke TEC-315 and the five-spoke TEC-316 suit 911 and 718 owners after a deeper concave face. Our guide on going wider without suspension work covers the limits.

Porsche brake size sets the minimum wheel diameter

The 992 Turbo S uses On the front, 420mm discs with 10-piston calipers adorn the 922 Turbo S, with powerful 390mm rear discs. The Cayenne Turbo GT carries 440mm ceramic front discs and 10-piston calipers on 22-inch wheels, Porsche confirms. Of course, the wheel also has a job to clear the caliper face behind the spokes and the barrel. We check that clearance in CAD on every Porsche order. For the Cayenne and Panamera, our split-spoke VLC-501 leaves room for big calipers and keeps airflow to the brakes open. Track owners can compare race-ready wheel features and our guide to torque, offset and backspacing.

•  Tell us if your car has PCCB ceramic brakes.

•  Include the caliper size with your order.

N-rated tyres still apply on new Porsche alloy wheels

Porsche began approving tyres for the 911 in 1988. Michelin tested 30,000 tyres for one N-rated 992 range, Drives Today reports. The number after the N tells you the generation, and both tyres on an axle should share generation and brand. Owners on the 911UK forum say the mark carries most weight on cars under a Porsche warranty. Check that an N-rated tyre exists in your new size before you order. Our guides on low-profile tyre sizing, tyre pressure and buying wheels and tyres together help you a lot here, and are worth a read.

Forged wheels reduce unsprung mass, as Porsche did in 1966

Porsche fitted forged Fuchs wheels to the 911 S in 1966. Each one targeted 6.6 lb (3 kg) less weight than a steel rim, to sharpen response, Porsche Newsroom notes. Wheels have grown since then. One Rennlist owner weighed a 21-inch Panamera front wheel and tyre at 63.2 lb (28.7 kg). A PCA San Diego forum member warned owners away from cast copies of forged factory wheels, and our replica rims guide also say the same thing, with more details. Forging 6061-T6 aluminium lets us remove metal that cast wheels need for strength, which improves ride comfort and mileage.

Our CLR Series CLR-101 carries a five-petal face for classic car owners with air-cooled 911s. Taycan owners can read our EV forged wheel guide, which covers the TEC-325, TEC-326 and VLC-506.

Which forged wheels is best for your Porsche in Dubai?

The correct Porsche wheels match the hub, the factory offsets, the brake package and an N-rated tyre size. K7 Forged 6061-T6 monoblocks such as the TEC-314 and VLC-501 meet those standards and more with less weight than cast rims. Our model guides on choosing Porsche wheels and performance vs luxury Porsche alloy wheels, explains it with proof, as well.

You can send us your car details through our enquiry page for a CAD preview of your custom wheels. The 911 and Cayenne also feature in our list of top cars for forged wheels. We have written similar guides for Lamborghini, Ferrari and McLaren cars.

FAQ

Do aftermarket wheels void a Porsche warranty in the UAE?

Custom wheels do not cancel the whole warranty, but a dealer can refuse claims it links to the wheels, as our warranty guide explains.

Can I reuse Porsche TPMS sensors on forged wheels?

Most forged wheels accept factory TPMS sensors, though some need a different valve stem.

Should I pick monoblock or two-piece wheels for a Porsche?

Monoblocks weigh less, while two-piece wheels allow deeper lips and more offset choices.

Are larger rims a good idea on a Cayenne?

Larger rims add weight and firm up the ride, so our bigger vs smaller wheels guide helps you pick a size.

How do I keep Porsche alloy wheels looking new in Dubai?

Wash them cool with a pH-neutral cleaner and avoid the habits in our alloy wheel damage guide.
